What Causes Black Spot On Iris Of Left Eye?

I am a well 80 year old female who has just been diagnosed with a black spot on the iris of my left eye.i have no symptoms but i am wondering if that is something to worry about.Apart from a near fatal car accident 7 years ago I have been very well for many years.I weigh 170 pounds.

It may be a mole.Keep watching it,if it increases in size,we have to do excision biopsy to rule out tumour.Take one close-up photograph of the lesion and repeat it every 2 months.if the size increase consult the Ophthalmologist immediately.otherwise nothing to worry
