What causes black moving dots in the left eye especially in light filled rooms ?

Hello, I have for the last 3 weeks been seing moving black dots in my left eye . It is continuous throughtout the day and particuarly worse when in light and bright rooms. Can you tell me what it might be and if there is any cure for this? Thanks.

Dear Mignon, Thanks for the question. You seem to be sufferring from a case pf vitreous floaters. Normally this is a benign condition brought about by vitreous degeneration due to old age, trauma or high myopia, but if at any point in time you notice that the number of floaters have suddenly increased or there appears a fixed black spot in your field of vision, then you should immediately consult your ophthalmologist.

Thanks for the post.
In medical terminology it is called floaters.It is mainly due to vitreous degeneration . It may be norrmal in old age people and in people wearing high minus power glasses. There is no treatment available for the same.Get your eyes examined once by an eye specialist.
