What Causes Black Discoloration Across The Shin Of A Child?
My 8 year old daughter hit her shin on the playground at school about a week ago, it broke the skin but she says it didn t bleed much when it happened. A think black -jet black- scab has formed over the place she hit. Until I looked at it closely it actually looked like she had black paint smeared across her leg. Should I be concerned? It s hasn t gotten any smaller, any softer, or changed color at all.

I really appreciate your concern, it could be the bleeding has happened from the microvascular region and form the hematoma not big one but it is ecchymosis in real term, infection need to be taken care, else no need to worry about it, may remains there for long time hope this information helps.
