I fell on my left side onto a bench 2 days ago - it kind of knocked the wind out of me-. My lower ribs from the middle of my side to a little ways into my back is painful. It s uncomfortable when I take a deep breath but it s not severe pain. Ino pain when I m sitting but when I get up I have moderate pain. I have taken Advil and am putting ice pack on it. There is no blood in my urine or stool - I m assuming I bruised my rib(s) and just need to take it easy - how long before I can start lifting agiain

Your symptoms are suggestive of bruised ribs. It takes 3-4 weeks for bruised ribs to completely heal. You can resume lifting weights in 3 weeks if the pain has completely subsided. Continue advil, apply ice and take adequate rest. The pain will likely start decreasing in 2 weeks and fully subside in 3-4 weeks.
