What Causes Back Pain, Headache And Loss Of Appetite In A Child?

Hello, My son is 11. He recently hurt is back and he was given Tylenol with Codeine. He took it for 3 days Last dose was yesterday morning. he has been complaining about being nauseous, headache, he is very pale and tired, loss of appetite, and having night mares where is very disoriented. He has NO fever, but was also sick last week with a cold. I am wondering if all these symptoms have to do with the codeine he is on, or could this be more serious to where I need to have him seen by his Dr.

hi,

Thank you for briefing the history of your son.

Since, there will be some side effects of the medicine which will stay for small duration of few days and then things will be back to normal. Since, he is feeling nausea, headache, loss of appetite are all some small side effects which are common even in adults too. You just have to keep patience and allow the symptoms to subside. Providing fruits in his diet will help keep the body cool, by which the nausea, headache and appetite issues will be resolved.
