What Causes Back Muscular Pain On Opposite Side Of Pulled Muscle?

My son (14) recently pulled a muscle on his rib cage (possibly from pitching). As soon as that went away (which took almost a month), he now has back muscle pain on the opposite side. I have been giving him advil and ice/heat but symptoms seem the same. Should I be concerned?

Muscle aches are extremely common. Almost everybody has likely experienced discomfort in his or her muscles at some point.
There can be several factors causing it -- Overuse of muscles , lack of physical activity and lack of proper intake of essential nutrients , lack of sleep .
Often, this is because most instances of myalgia result from too much stress, tension, or physical activity. Some common causes include:
over stretching the muscles ,avoiding high-impact activities until after the weight-lifting sessions until the muscle pain is resolved
Taking proper rest and right balanced diet including fiber , vitamins ,minerals ,protien ,antioxidants -ginger , garlic, lemon juice , Aloe vera , turmeric powder with milk in proper proportion .
All this will help boost immunity increase resistance from diseases .

Incorporate a warm-up and a cool-down into all of your exercise sessions.

Stay hydrated, .
Engage in regular exercise to help promote optimal muscle tone.
Get up and stretch regularly if you work at a desk or in an environment that puts you at risk for muscle strain or tension.

Some medical factors for myalgia include:
hypothyroidis
fibromyalgia
infections, such as the flu
lupus
Your sore muscles might be due to something other than tension and physical activity.
