Hi, welcome to HCM. Thanks for asking your query at this forum.
We understand your concern. I have read your question carefully and understood it. I will try my best to answer it.
The condition you were experiencing appears to be a
sleep disorder. As you told that you were having these symptoms since childhood.
Sleep walking and having fearful dreams are known symptoms of stage III NREM sleep disorder. In this type of disorder the person experiences fearful dreams, but he/she does not remember the dream after waking up. Similarly he/she may get up from bed, may walk in dreams as if he is doing some meaningful activity but does not remember the same after waking up.
As you say, there is no sleep walking or dreaming now a days but you experience loud music in head. This may be due to a common phenomenon called hypnopompic hallucination. In this, a person have unusual perceptual experiences like auditory
hallucinations or visual hallucinations for some time soon after awakening from sleep. This lead to generation of
anxiety in person as if he/she is going crazy (as happening in your case).
Since you have similar symptom- auditory hallucinations (as in your case the loud music you are experiencing), I am thinking about this as a possible cause. There is nothing much to worry as after few minutes these abnormal auditory and visual perceptions disappear.
You should follow good
sleep hygiene to reduce/stop this experience. If this phenomenon is causing much personal distress then you may need prescription of few sleep medicines.
I hope it answers your query. I wish you all the best.
