What Causes Ankles Swelling, Joint Pain, Headaches With Breathlessness?

I am currently taking Lisinopril, Ditiazem, Propranolol and levothyroxine. Six weeks ago I had my thryoid removed and felt awesome for about 3 weeks. Week 4 has symptoms returning, ankles swelling, joint pain, headaches, hot/cold intolerance and sometimes shortness of breath. The levothyroxine is at 150mcg and I m wondering if it is too high a dose?

Hello and thank you for asking!
I read your concern carefully and i can understand your query.
The levothyroxine dose after total thyroidectomy varies a lot and 6 weeks after starting treatment you should check the hormonal level to see if 150 mcg of levothyroxine is the proper dose.
I would recommend you to check also the calcium level because it may happen to have hypocalcemia as a result of the accidental removal of the parathyroid gland that are responsible for calcium homeostasis.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
