hello doctor i am 14 this year and i am having motion sickness when i travel long journey in a car i start feeling nausea but not vomiting it started early this year and i don't fell much change when i take the motion sickness pill . Is there something wrong with me ?
If you have motion sickness when you travel, and no motion sickness pill is working, this does not mean that there is something wrong with you. Some people get more sick if they start traveling than others. This is perfectly normal.
I usually advise my patients with the same problems as you to: - take the pill at least 1 hour prior to start traveling - try to close the eyes when traveling, do not look/stare at the road - if you cannot keep your eyes closed, sit at the front seats and stare the road ahead, do not turn your head - keep something in your mouth and keep chewing it up during the whole journey. There are some chewing gums with motion sickness drug inside that you can find at your local pharmacy and use it during the all travel. - try to talk to others when traveling to get distracted and feel less nausea
Hope it helped! Dr.Albana
