What Causes An Indentation In The Leg After An Injury?

I hit the front of my right thigh, this caused a large bruise about 6 by 6 in diameter. The bruise and the pain has bees gone form that spot for 4 months but I have sunken place on my leg where the bruise was. It does not hurt. I am 55 years old, female. What caused the leg to sink in, should I be concerned?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I studied your case and I think you have injured your leg that time and it causes accumulation of blood in the thigh. It get organized over the period of time and it causes formation of fibrous tissue , which is contractile in nature.
This causes teathering of skin and this leads to skin sinking inside.
This is not very serious and over the period of time, it will improve. This is not going to harm you or cause you any trouble in future. If it causes any problem like itching or discoloration of the skin then I would recommend you to meet a surgeon .
