What Causes An Indentation And Pain In Head After Head Injury?

A few months ago I was sitting on a rock and went to lay down and hit my head a little harder than I expected. But it wasn t extremely hard as I was surprised it hurt so bad. I can t quite remember but I think my head started aching right after. Near the top of my head, it s sort of a soft spot where I think I hit it, there seems to be an indentation, it hurts to lay my head on hard surfaces. Not sure if I should worry about it?

Hi, I understand your concern and I'll try to help you. The trauma that you reported does not suggest gravity, especially because it occurred months ago.

However, it is important that you and your family are aware of the warning signs for intracranial complications after head trauma. These signs are excessive drowsiness, persistent headache, change in behavior, confusion, nausea and recurrent vomiting.

It is likely that the headache you are suffering is unrelated to the trauma and should be disposed of the most common causes of headache, such as tension headache and migraine.

So if any warning signs or if the headache continues messing up your life, I suggest that you look for a good neurologist for further investigation.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help you. Wish you good health.
