Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently had an ultrasound because I m interested in having a hysterectomy. My ultrasound came back abnormal and they said my uterus looks enlarged and cloudy and they want to do an endometrial biopsy. When I asked more questions the nurse was evasive and just said they want to confirm my endometriosis again. She couldn t tell me why my uterus looked the way it did. Looking to try and get some answers. Thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What ultrasound report you have posted suggests that the uterus and enlarged and appears cloudy could be due to endometriosis. However, it would be always better to confirm the diagnosis by doing a endometrial biopsy and subjecting the material by histopathology process. In case if the histopathology report suggests any other findings, other mode of treatment should be instituted and followed up, apart from doing hysterectomy. Kindly follow the suggestions and guidelines as given by your doctor. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
