What Causes An Enlarged Prostate And Blood In Urine?

My husband had blood in his urine. An ultrasound was done. The prostrate is enlarged, the urologist said there was a shadow on the bladder wall. He has booked a cystoscopy and spoke of doing a biopsy. Would he be checking for cancer of either the bladder or prostrate. His PSA has been in the normal range for a 67 year old.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, let me advise you that PSA must be below 4, to be normal.
If a growth is seen in the bladder,on ultrasound scan, it will be reported as such. It should then be biopsied, to know what type of growth it is.
There's nothing like "shadow in bladder". You can clarify with him, what he means by shadow, growth or tumor, which will be biopsied.
If you want my expert opinion, you can send the reports here, in my name.
Medical treatment for enlarged prostate can be given.
