What Causes An Altered Sense Of Smell, Dizziness And Severe Headache?

Dear Dr. Rynne, recently I have a very strange smell problem. Sometimes, without any reason, I smell a sweet sharp penetrating odor. After I feel dizzy and have a terrible head ache. What can be the problem? What can I do about it? Thank you for your help.

Hello, greetings! Thank you for your query. You appear to be having "aura" of migraine headache. Before migraine, some people experience a wide variety of symptoms like peculiar taste in the mouth, smell, flashes of light which is followed by a headache. You need to prevent any aggravating factors like, stress, noisy environment and need to take analgesic drugs during an attack.
