A week ago I woke up with my upper and lower eyelid areas swollen and my eye extremely red. I went to Urgent care and was told I was having an allergic reaction to something and that it would clear up in a couple of days. Two days later, still the same. Went to an optometrist and he said that I had a bacterial staph infection and gave me an oral antibiotic and drops to take for two days. Eye got worse. Was told I was allergic to the drops. Got two kinds of new drops - two days later - still the same. Saw a different optometrist in the same office. He said I was allergic to one of the new drops. He left me on one saying it was just an anti-inflammatory and that I should see results in a couple of days. I get up in the morning with my eye so swollen I can only open it slightly. With the drops and throughout the day with cold compresses the swelling goes down but the redness and watering of the eye remains. I do not have any crusting. When I wake up during the night my eye waters like I am crying. Do you have suggestions as I have been battling this for a week and today I'm starting to think it is in the other eye to.
