What Causes Agitated Depression?
Well i have been feeling very agitated, paranoid and depressed for 2 months plus i had insomnia. I recent found out that Bipolar Disorder runs in my family. I asked my old psychiatris and he doesn t know what i have but thinks i need antidepressants again (Prozac). Now sure if it mixed episodes of bipolar or something. He describes me as agitated depression. What do you think?

It is normally seen that patients with positive family history of bipolar disorder get either depression or bipolar disorder. If you do not have any manic or hypomanic episode in past, then current episode is of depression and you can start taking antidepressant like prozac. In your case, chances of antidepressant switch is there, but you can also take mood stabilizer as back up. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
