What Causes Acne, headaches And Weight Gain?

Hello, I'm 20 years old and I haven't been menstruating in 1,5 years. I visited a gynacologist who did an ultrasound, but coudln't see anything odd. Then my GP send me to a neurologist because he suspected a tumor around my Pituitary gland, but that wasn't the case either. I've been getting more hormone-related symptomes over the past year, and they gradually come and go. These symptomes include: Acne, headaches, increase in libido, weight gain (especially around my tummy and face) and I can't seem to loose this weight, and I've noticed darker, more 'manly' bodyhair.. I also lack sleep because I usually feel stressfull or extra tense when I'm in bed, I also feel like I can't remember things well or get confused. People also complain I'm very absent. My neurologist send me back to my GP who doesn't know what to do either. I have a huge list of symptomes, all very 'plain' such as headache and nausea. I'm not depressed and I haven't got any stress either (other than my fear I might be infirtle). Is there anything I should ask my GP to get me tested for?

Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms and weight gain that you have reported. I will suggest that your doctors do a hormonal assessment paying special attention to steroid hormones levels in blood. Not all tumors would be seen on a head scan as small tumors that produce hormones are rarely visible.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
