Hello. Thanks for the query.
Usaully following a bout of vomiting there can be heart burn, as esophagus gets exposed to acidic stomach contents and that leads to burning sensation.
Plus a bout of acid peptic disease also can cause heartburn and burping. The most common reason is taking untimely food, keeping stomach empty for a long time, taking spicy foods, intake of too much beverages, alcohol and smoking.
To control those symptoms it is essential to take more frequent but small meals. Avoid spicy foods. Avoid all those substances which tend to stimulate more stomach acid secretion like hot beverages, alcohol & smoking. If these measures do not reduce excess acidity, then drugs like OPPI (Omeprazole) or H2 receptor antagonist (Ranitidine 150 mg twice a day on empty stomach) may be required. Thanks.
