What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding?

I ve been on depo for 16 yrs taking a break now and then due to the risk of osteoporosis.. I m under incredible amount of stress at the moment with house move etc .. But I ve started bleeding when I would not normally do so .. Is this normal as I ve never experienced this ?

If you have started bleeding at an unusual time, it is definitely not normal. Stress, abnormal weight changes, trauma, infection and hormone imbalances can cause such abnormal menstruation apart from local causes like erosion, vaginitis, cervicitis, polyps and cysts. You need to have a complete evaluation by a specialist to decipher the cause and plan further management. Irregular use of hormonal contraception also can lead to such picture.
