General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Such type of abnormal menstrual period may be due to these possibilities ,these include:
1 Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease ( PCOD ) , if your age is very young and child bearing age ( 18-30 ) the most common cause of such menstruation cycle may be PCOD.Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of ovaries as well hormonal examination for FSH LH ratio.
2 The 2nd most common cause is tension and anxiety ,so be careful, about that.
3 Another most common cause in fibroid in uterus , get in ultrasound of uterus for confirmation.
However ,there are so many other causes like medicine or fever but deal as mentioned above.
So consult a gynaecologist and get his opinion as physical examination as well complete clinical history is important.
Good luck.
