What Causes Abdominal Weight Gain And Severe Lower Back Pain After A Hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy December 2013 leaving both ovaries. 4 mths later they had to remove one of the ovaries as it dropped into the vaginal vault. I was told I had endometriosis (but this wasn t the reason for hysterectomy), since then I have had severe lower back pain and groin pain and put on a lot of weight I the stomach (up high). It is caused by this? I also have beginnings of osteoarthritis. I m 43 years old

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe lower back and groin pain and weight gain after hysterectomy which seems to be due to contact dermatitis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like swollen lymph nodes, allergic reaction , psoriasis , skin infection , sun allergy or fungal infection. The symptoms can also occur due to post hysterectomy , so consult your doctor and discuss about it . I would suggest you to keep your skin clean and dry and protect it from sun. Apply only petroleum jelly and take antihistamine like benadryl twice a day. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment. Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test , blood test , allergy test and take history to rule out the side effects of certain drug .
