General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query
Yes, you should be alarmed as you have pain in the right upper abdomen.
This needs to be checked:
-By physical examination by a Doctor, preferably a Surgeon.
-Ultrasonography of the abdomen to start with.
-Blood tests of amylase, lipase, liver function tests.
-Urine: for bile salts and pigments.
-Upper GI Endoscopy to rule out gastritis and ulcers.

This will give you the correct diagnosis and a plan for a proper treatment .
