What Causes Abdominal Pain While On Treatment For Strep Infection?
my son was treated for a strep infection and was having abdominal pain so we had a ct done. The ct was good except he had constipation. It has been 3 weeksand he doesnt act like the same child. He still has some stomach pain and seems to have a hard time running and playing like he did before. He takes miralax foe the constipation and has bowel movemrnts 2 or 3 times a day so why is he still acting this way
HI. Thanks for your query. If a child is having pain in abdomen, he is not bluffing as you have noted change of his habits and playing pattern. Althugh CT is normal , this does not mean that he is normal. The most probable cause of pain in abdomen after a strp throat in a child is gastroenteritis which has not resolved. This will be not picked up on CT scan . Give him another course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics, activated charcoal and he will be fine
