I ve been having stomach pain radiating to the lower and upper back. Feeling nausious and headache. Feels like a lump is in my throat and i want to vomit. I had an ulcer before and this is what the pains feel like. I ve been taking pepto bismol all weekend and there s a slight relief but not totally, I still feel pain and nausea. What should i do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The medication in the family of drugs called proton pump inhibitors would work better for an ulcer if present eg nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix

These can be combined with pepcid or zantac initially because they can sometimes take a few days to exert an effect.

You would also need to hold off any spicy, acidic, fatty or fried foods.

If there is no improvement then your doctor may need to assess you.

I hope this helps
