What Causes Abdominal Pain And Bloating With Nausea With History Of GERD?

I have been experiencing abdominal pain, sharper in upper left, and bloating for several days. Similar to last bout of acute colitis, but no diarrhea -- hard, small stools instead. Am also experiencing severe achiness overall. Nausea after eating but no vomiting. I have celiac and GERD and take 20mg omeprazole in the morning. Could this just be a virus or should i be concerned that it will develop into additional GI issues? No gastroenterology appointments available for several weeks. Is there anything I can do to feel better in the meantime?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The bloating sensation is possibly due to gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD).
The drug that you are taking - omeprazole 20 mg is to treat GERD.
It prevents the reflux and thus prevents water brash, acid reflux, burning sensation, bloating and other symptoms of GERD.
However, since you are still suffering from bloating despite taking medication for reflux, I am of the opinion that the symptoms are not due to GERD.
Bloating can also occur in disorders of liver or gall bladder.
In addition, nausea after having food could also be due to liver disorder.
I suggest you to get liver function tests done along with ultrasound abdomen.
Gall stones often cause bloating, nausea, vomiting etc after having food.
Ultrasound abdomen will help to detect gall stones.
Management can be planned after the investigations.
You can even consult a physician if you are unable to get appointment of a gastroenterologist.

Thanks and take care
