What Causes Abdominal Pain Above The Surgical Sutures Post C-section?

Hi I am 27 years old and 4 years ago had a C-section, recently I have been experiencing abdominal pain on the left side just above the stitches. The pain is similar to the pain experienced after the C-section operation. I was wondering what could be the cause of it because I have never had the pain before. Could the cold or lifting heavy objects be the cause of the pain or is it something serious I should be worried about

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The surgical site after cesarean section is unlikely to be infected four years after the surgery.
The abdominal pain is likely to be due to some other cause.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment of the site.
The suture line needs to be examined for any infection or any other abnormality.
An ultrasound of the abdomen may also be required and it will help to assess the abdominal organs for any enlargement or any other abnormality.
In the meanwhile you can take a pain killer to control the pain.

Thanks and take care
