What Causes Abdominal Discomfort, Nausea And Belching?

My husband s symptoms are belching, abdominal discomfort, sometimes a choking feeling, nausea, weight loss due to food tasting bad or different and nausea resulting in dry heaving. He is a complex case. He has had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, abd ct, scan for gallbladder function, chest x-ray. Results were hiatal hernia and he has had a cholecystectomy due to 15% functioning gallbladder. Still not well. He also has transposition of the greater arteries. He is followed by a pediatric cardiologist. Recent cardiac MRI. We are following up with the family doctor this week. Are there any suggestions on what other tests we could have done? Just not sure at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your husband and understood your concerns.
Since the reports of Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, CT scan X-ray of the chest are normal and cholecystectomy has not solved his problems, the causes of belching, abdominal discomfort, feeling of choking, dry heaves and weight loss can be due to the following reasons:
Stress and/or anxiety can be the most major reasons in case of normal reports.
I would advise him the following:
Get an evaluation by a Psychiatrist too to find out any problems that is causing such symptoms.
Transposition of great vessels can not be the reason for such symptoms and better be taken care by the Cardiologist and also take an opinion of a Cardio-thoracic Surgeon.
Change of place, job, relieving him all the factors that cause or enhance the symptoms including the foods and beverages can help him further.
Proper medications as per the cause found as well as symptomatic treatment may help your husband.
