What Causes Abdominal Cramps In Absence Of Periods?

I am 58 years old and have not had a period in about five years. For the past couple of months I ve been having cramping like pre-menstrual cramps. My right breast is sore and my left ovary twinges. Is it possible to have hormone surges this far into menopause? No bleeding. I m in good shape, otherwise.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Usually, the hormonal changes in the perimenopausal period does not extend so long after menopause.
Cramps in lower abdomen can be due to problem in genital tract, or in large intestine.
Unilateral sore breast could be due to any pathology in the breast, and is unlikely due to any hormonal changes.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
