What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Heart Burns?

For a few years now I ve suffered with abdominal cramps (male) and I ve just let it go by. I suffer really bad with heartburn as well. I ve changed my diet plenty of times to see if it changed but nothing. But this year the stomach cramps have been unbelievably unbearable to the point I m being restricted to movement. As well as this during bowel movement I m either vomiting or being close to vomiting. Now this is really uncomfortable and real painful. I also the last few months as strangely as it sounds feel like my health is deteriorating. I m mixed race and my skin colour is fading which people are pointing out. To top it off, a lot of little blotches keep appearing on my body like chicken pots. What are these symptoms and could it possibly be leading to a serious condition? Jerome

Hello,

Thank you for your query.

It is highly probably you are suffering from a peptic ulcer disease (PUD). It is a painful sore in the lining of your stomach, small intestine or esophagus. Peptic ulcers can lead to gastrointestinal bleeding leading to anemia which explains your pale skin. PUD most commonly caused by a microbe that invades a stomach (Helicobacter pylori). The microbe also causes skin rashes. Patients also often experience lack of appetite, weight loss, nausea, dark stools. The only way to diagnose the disease is through endoscopy. Blood, breath, and stool sample may also be tested to screen for the bacteria. The treatment mostly consists of combination 3 medicines: 2 antibiotics against the bacteria and a medicine to lower stomach acid (proton pump inhibitors).

I hope I have answered your question. Please, feel free to ask me more in HCM if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you,
Dr.Malik
