What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Vaginal Bleeding While On Seasonique?

My obgyn prescribed me seasonique birth control. Ithe is the three moth pack with all actives and the last week of the third pack has inactive pills. But in the middle of the second to last pack I started bleeding and slight cramps. And bloating along with tenderness in lower abdomen. And still bleeding off and on.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Seasonique is an oral contraceptive that combines ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel.
These are hormones that are commonly used in oral contraceptives.

Most of these combined pills can be associated with a risk of breakthrough bleeding , this refers to bleeding that can occur between the periods.
In many cases, the bleeding decreases as the body becomes used to the medication so you can consider monitoring for now.

Bloating is also a noted possible side effect.

I hope this helps
