What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Sudden Weight Gain?

I had a colonoscopy last month, come back good. But, in a week gained 4 lbs, feel bloated and look like I m pregnant (I m not). In a month now, gained 9 lbs. Taking Phillips Colon Health daily. Tried taking a fiber supplement---made things worse. Is it just a matter of time, to build up the good bacteria in my stomach. Not eating that much either.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.

Post- colonoscopy it is normal to feel bloated. Some people also report to have weight gain. It is also possible if you are on any other medications. Try to consume lots of fluids, light foods, low fibre foods, probiotics which would be good for your bowel. Just wait for a few weeks and if you still continue to have similar symptoms, I would suggest you to consult with your doctor.

Please revert back for any further queries.
Thank you.
