What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Blood In Stool?

Hello, lately I have been feeling a little bloated and have passing bright red blood along with smaller than usual stools. It doesn t bleed every time I go to the bathroom and I also feel like the amount that comes out is a lot less than the quantity I eat. The weird thing is I am not feeling any kind of pain. The most discomfort I feel is the bloating sensation. I have thought maybe it was caused by stress but I m not sure.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to constipation, polyp, inflammatory bowel disease, piles, proctitis.
I would suggest to consult the gastroenterologist and undergo routine blood tests like CBC, ESR, CRP,
Stool tests: routine, microscopy, fecal calprotectin, and colonoscopy.
Specific treatment will depend on the cause.
Meanwhile take tablet gas-x to relieve bloating
Drink plenty of water, avoid spicy/fatty/oily food, take diet like banana, applesauce, well cooked rice and toast.
Hope this may help you
