What Causes A Wound That Is Oozing Clear Liquid?

got bitten by a bug of unknown origin 4 days ago, on the back of my right hand between my thumb and index finger. Swelled up, and on the second day skin peeled off and oozing clear liquid. It doesn t seem to want to dry up or start healing. Have covered it with polysporin and bandaid but continues to ooze. I now have uncovered and am hoping it will start to dry out. Never had a bug bite like this before. I m a healthy 53 yr. old white male.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, when the bug got bit you inoculated some toxins the swelling is a normal body answer, I recommend you don't use cremes or unguents while your skin is oozing the first step is aply some wet compresses (just sterile or boiled water works) 3 times/20 minutes per day and when the lesion becomes dry you can start to aply the creme, Just take care and good luck
