What Causes A Swollen Patch On The Cornea?

age 60, every time I have body aches (this time Sciatica down one leg along with general aches all over) my eyes seems to be affected. I get a gooey discharge in which my doctor prescribed antibiotic eye drops. Another doctor once called it by another name and put storied drops and another type of drop in my eye to anesthetize it, put a patch on it and told me to keep it on for a few days. I did and it disappeared. This time along with the eye patch one the white of my eye swelled. He didn t think it was allergy related. If I could remember what he thought it was, I could inform my current doctor. Do you have any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Simple body aches on one side is not sciatica. In sciatica there is severe unbearable nerve pain. Its a coincidence to have swollen eyes alongwith. Try antibiotics like oflox eye drops if there is yellow discharge from eye. If not then simple clearine eye drop will releive you.
