What Causes A Swollen Cyst On The Buttock?

I have or had a cyst right on the thick skin part of the crack of my butt. Went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and pain medicine. It popped and I squeezed a lot of pus and blood out of it. It doesn t hurt like before but it is still a little swollen. Its only been 2 days. But now I have a hole there. Considering the place, what would you recommend I do next? Should I let it heal on its own or should I go see a dematologist?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a cyst on the butt crack that oozed pus on popping seems most probably be due to formation of a Perianal abscess that has not yet started draining..
It occurs most commonly due to hairfollicle infection while other causes can be infected gland in the area or infection in the skin leading to pus formation under the skin..

I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or Anorectal surgeon or you can even see a general surgeon and get evaluated.
He can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and topical application of antibiotic, steroid and numbing ointment..
Do warm compresses as it can ease in draining it off..
If it does not improve or start worsening then Incision and Drainage can help in faster resolution..
