What Causes A Sore Throat And Chest Pain While Breathing?

I choked on a piece of food last night and was able to work it down myself. I am experiencing a sore throat and chest pain when breathing in (mainly on left side). Did I most likely pull a muscle? Also, how would I know if the food went to the stomach not the trachea?

I can understand your concern.
You had aspiration of foreign body (food particle). This causes friction in throat and it is the cause for sore throat.
Your chest pain on breathing can be due to impactation of foreign body in Airway.
To diagnose this, you need to get done bronchoscopy. Bronchoscopy is not only diagnostic but it will also therapeutic (for removal of foreign body), if food particle is there.
So get done bronchoscopy to confirm the things.
If bronchoscopy is negative then possibility of musculoskeletal pain due to coughing is more.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Get done bronchoscopy to rule out aspiration of food particle in trachea.
