What Causes A Sense Of Obstruction In Throat With Pain Upon Swallowing?

I RECENTLY HAD TONSILITUS AND A BAD THROAT INFECTION THAT I GOT WITHIN ONE NIGHT( LAST MONDAY NIGHT)! I WAS GIVEN TABLETS BY THE DOCTOR WHICH I AM TAKING ON TUESDAY FOR 10 DAYS. I AM RECOVERING BUT I NOW FEEL LIKE I HAVE SOMETHING STUCK IN MY THROAT, IVE HAD THIS FEELING FOR 4 DAYS NOW. IT HURTS WHEN I SWALLOW SO I LOOKED IT UP AND ITS WHERE THE TYROID GLAND IS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WEATHER I MAY HAVE SOMETHING STUCK IN MY THROAT OR JUST WHAT IT IS?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your symptoms you are suffering from Viral Infection & tonsillitis and sore throat is due to it.There might be a secondary bacterial infection along with viral infection. There is nothing obstructed in your throat & this feeling is just due to swollen throat.
Following remedies may be done.
1.Salt Water Gargle- Mix 1 tsp of salt with warm water in a glass. Gargle for roughly 15-20 seconds and spit out. You can repeat this as needed for 2-3 days. Remember to spit the water rather swallowing it.
2.Take antibiotic like augmentin or azithromycin
3.Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen/acetaminophen it will reduce swelling and pain.
4.Drink plenty of water & Take rest.

You will start improving in 3 to 4 days..
