What Causes A Red Blotch Under The Tongue?

I think I have a broken blood vessel under my tongue. I was eating a protein bar and I felt like something had stuck my tongue. I looked at it and there is a red blotch about the size of a dime under my tongue. It hurt initially but now it does not.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Red colored blotch under the tongue can be due to hemorrhage, hematoma or benign tumor of blood vessels (hemangioma).
Hemorrhage and hematoma formation occur after trauma or injury.
I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment.
Hemorrhage and hematoma formation usually clear away with time.
Hemangioma or soft tissue tumor of blood vessel needs to be excised.
Further management will be decided after clinical assessment.

Thanks and take care
