What Causes A Pus Filled Bump On The Cheek?

Hello, My family member just informed me she has what looks like a line across one side of her cheek inside her mouth. She said its been there for weeks. I asked if it bled or has puss. She said no blood maybe a little puss. Obviously it is infected. My question is what else could it be Also she has been known to drink hard liquor could it be from that? I don't want to scare her or hurt her feelings . I did tell her she needs to go to the doctor's asap.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pus filled bump on the cheek which seems to be due to any injury to mucosa, stress, hormonal changes and due to hot and acidic food at times.

I would suggest you to start doing baking soda rinses and apply orabase gel before having meal. Drink plenty of water. They usually go away within few days by their own. If condition doesn't subside in a weak then consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis and then go for biopsy by taking sample from oral mucosa. Doctor may prescribe steroid supplement and Vitamin B complex supplement.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
