What Causes A Positive Pregnancy Test After A Medical Abortion?
I had medical abortion a week ago, and passed huge clots of blood. I was 5-6 weeks when i did this. I did another preg test today and its still clearly positive, please advise if im still pregnant. I will be going for another check up with the Dr tommorow..

Pregnancy test can remain positive for a couple of weeks after delivery or an abortion because the hormone levels take some time to drop down to the non-pregnant state. For an induced medical abortion, follow up trans-vaginal sonogram after two weeks will confirm completion of the process and detects if there are any retained products to be taken care of. Please do not worry. Just maintain proper genital hygiene and abstain from sexual intercourse for two weeks and after appropriate contraceptive measures. Hope this helps.
