What Causes A Muffling Sensation In Ear?

I woke up this morning with my left ear being really muffled. I could barely hear a thing so I got a q tip and went around lightly, not in very much and pulled out blood on the q tip. I haven t stuck a q tip in my ear for probably 4 years. So I don t think it would be a punctured eardrum. Any suggestions?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
If you didn't have ear discharge less likely that you have perforation. I would suggest you to have a course of antibiotics with sinarest and steam inahalation. You will feel better in a day or two. But continue medications for five days
Wishing you best of health
