What Causes A Lump Under An Arthroscopy Incision Site?

Hi I am quite a fit 57 yr old lady underwent arthroscopy for a complex meniscal tear and general trimming of the cartilage 2weeks ago. I am recovering well walking and on my bike today, but since the surgery I have a hard lump beneath the incision site which is quite painful especially finally at night causing me to wake frequently. This area was quite bruised following surgery. I am able. To flex my knee to 90 degrees but the it is very painful, feels the lump is just getting in the way. I have tried ice, massage but Nik appears to help do you have any suggestions ???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected user , Hi

Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have gone through your query thoroughly .

* This seems to be thickened subcutaneous tissue which is healed after
surgery .

* Recommended to get ultrasound of the local part to rule out any
other possibility .

Thanks .
Regards .
