What Causes A Lump On The Hip After An Injury?

I have a hip replacement and fell on that side a cpl times over last weekend. It had a big bruise but going away. Now I feel a big knot on the side of my hip just below where the leg attatches. I have swelling in my feet and leg. Around the side of where the knot is there is sore and hard feeling area towards the back of that leg. Should I be seen and should I go ASAP or call my doc on Monday.

Hi,

The swelling near hip joint after replacement surgery needs a check up by the operating surgeon. If there is problem in walking/movements of hip. You should go ASAP in case there is no difficulty in walking. Visit your doctor. Do not massage. You can apply cold pack, apply Betadin to bruise, and take injection TT.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
