What Causes A Lump In The Scalp Of A Child Having Ringworm Infection?

My 3-year-old son contacted ringworm on his scalp about 6 months ago and was on antibiotics for 3 months. The spots are regrowing hair again now, so they are better. However, the large spot (about the size of a lime) now has a lump/knot below it. Would this be a result of the ringworm or something more serious? I am very worried. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,
It seems that due to ring worm infection there might be having secondary bacterial infection leading to enlarged occipital lymph node.
Nothing to worry as one antibiotic medicine is completed.
Apply antifungal lotion like Candid lotion.
For itching you can give Benadryl syrup.
Keep local hygiene dry and airy.
Ok and take care.
