What Causes A Low Body Temperature And Coughing?

My 61 year old husband is always extremely cold and has low body temp. He is 6'4" 170 lbs. vegan and athletic. He also suffers from chronic bronchitis ( my diagnosis) every winter for 3 weeks at a time. He will not take antibiotics or drugs. He does not drink or smoke. Is there a link between a very low body temp (94) and the coughing? Thanks

Hello
Your husband is having coughing for 3 weeks every winter and also having low temperature (94 ) , such symptoms may be due to these possibilities , these include:
1 Congestive obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD) , as you mentioned that your husband suffer for 3 weeks in every winter , so such low temperature and such winter cough may be due to copd .
Diagnosis can be confirmed by pulmonary function test as well X ray ,and physical examination by a pulmonologist.
2 Congestive heart failure , as this is also a common cause of such symptoms ,particularly when patient is having long history of cough ( ALLERGIC BRONCHITIS ).
Diagnosis can be confirmed by ECG and echo.
3 Atherosclerois , hamper in blood supply particularly in peripheral parts like limbs .
Diagnosis can be confirmed by arteriography.
I recommend you please consult a pulmonologist and get his opinion as cough and low temperature ( hypothermia ) are a cause of concern when the age of patient is 61 years.
Good luck.
