What Causes A Hard Lump Behind The Ear On The Mastoid Bone?
Very hard lump behind my ear on mastoid bone , I ve been feeling very strange lately ... Weird feelings in my brain that I can t recall ever feeling before , living a very stressful life right now as well & this lump just came out of nowhere ... It s painless & doesn t move at all , it s so hard , it feels like it s a bone itself but it s definetly not
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain hard lump on the mastoid bone seems to be most probably due to infection and inflammation causing Mastoiditis.
It is an infection of Mastoid bone leading to swelling and inflammation over the mastoid bone..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist or a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRO scan and blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and cool compresses over it..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
