What Causes A Hard Bump On Penis?

Age: late 20s, Height 6', weight 210. About two months ago while masturbating, I noticed a hard bump on my penis that appeared seem out of nowhere. It's fairly small but very hard when I'm erect, and the inflammation is strongest near orgasm. It's below the corona (but near it) on the shaft on the right and on the side mostly. It's been there ever since. I can feel it when I touch it even while not erect, but it isn't as pronounced or as hard. I also can feel it during sex sometimes. Sometimes I can't. It seems to very a bit in the level of inflammation. At it's worse though after sex it is very sore and seems to stay inflamed morose for a while. I plan on going to a urologist soon, but wanted to use this feature to get a more immediate idea of what might have happened. My guess some sort of scaring issue? But I didn't bend it or hit it or anything.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .

A hard painful lump on the shaft of the penis could be a a calcified plaque(Peyronies Disease ) and needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified Urologist .

It usually develops due to calcification in scar tissue in Tunica Albugenia resulting out of trivial injury during rough and vigorous masturbation .

You need to do Ultrasound Scanning of the penis to assess depth and extent of calcification .

In majority of cases it is left untreated as it gets resolved spontaneously .However needs to be treated by surgery depending upon the degree of curvature of penis and whether it poses difficulty in penetration during intercourse
