What Causes A Fissure Extended To The Skin Behind The Anus?

Three years ago, I developed a fissure that extended up to the skin behind my anus causing a small boil-like hole. It is in the thin skin between my buttocks. The doctor cleaned it out and gave me a gel to put inside and had me place gauze on the opening. It took about 3 months to heal over. About a month ago, it reopened. I do not have insurance so what gel can I use to repeat the procedure?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of anal fissure, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid spicy foods and excessive salty diet.
2. Apply a calcium dobisilate cream like Osil cream twice a day.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.

If problem persists then consult a surgeon.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
