What Causes A Dislocated Collar Bone?

Hello, I am a 56 year old cauccasian male. I am height to weight proportional. 5 ft 10 in tall x 185 lbs. My right collar bone looks as if it is dislocated. The right collar bone growth protrudes about 1 inch higher than my left collar bone. I have been to a chiropractor who said that my collar bones were not dislocated, and that it simply looks line the bone on the right collar bone has developed more than the left side. I feel no pain, have no discoloration and can move my torso freely. Any idea what has caused this collar bone growth? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you ever fractured your right collar bone, even in childhood, due to a fall. If so, healing at the fracture site sometimes can cause increased bone deposition, and this would look more prominent than the left one. Since you are absolutely asymptomatic and can use your right arm freely, please do not worry about this prominence. If there was any dislocation, you would be very much symptomatic. Sometimes it so happens that there is a disparity in the length and shape of bones on either side. This is not pathological, and could be very normal. The chiropractor also did examine you and diagnosed no abnormality. Hence please take this as a normal variation.
