I just started my period this morning. I have a 1 cm cyst on my right ovary. When I went to the bathroom to urine. As I wiped it was so slimy that it went everywhere. Then later on as I went to back to bathroom to change my pad. When I looked I freaked out. It was alot of blood. Do you think my cyst busted?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The cyst in the ovary with a size of 1 cm is not at all worrisome. Most likely, it would be a physiological cyst which forms under the hormonal effects.Such a small cysts do not ruptures. Moreover, whenever the ovarian cyst ruptures, the contents leak inside the abdomen, causing pain. It do not leads to bleeding from vagina. The bleeding you are experiencing is most probably the menstrual blood. To confirm, you may get a ultrasound done. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
